Assecura

Risk analysis & insurance

We begin with the risk.

Not with the insurance product.

Assecura connects classical insurance broking with digital risks, new forms of cover and modern infrastructure.

About Assecura

What Assecura does

  1. 01

    Understanding risks

We record the relevant risks and examine what they could cost. In doing so we consider classical risks as well as digital risks and technological dependencies.

  2. 02

    Structuring how risks are handled

Not every risk has to be insured. Risks can be avoided, reduced, retained or transferred. What matters is which form of handling the risk makes sense in the specific case.

  3. 03

    Using insurance deliberately

Where transferring a risk is sensible and possible, we develop suitable cover concepts and find matching insurance solutions in the market.

  4. 04

    Developing the infrastructure

We are working to make the infrastructure of insurance broking more modern, better connected and ready for new digital requirements - together with specialised partners and, where it makes sense, with solutions of our own.

Risk Structure

  1. Identify
  2. Assess
  3. Manage
  4. Retain / Transfer

Insurance is an instrument for handling and transferring risk - not the starting point of our advice. What comes first is identifying, assessing and classifying the individual risks. Only on that basis is it judged which risks should be avoided, reduced, retained, or transferred through insurance cover.

In doing so we pay particular attention to digital risks, new forms of cover and the infrastructure through which insurance will become accessible in future.

Where a risk is insured, it is carried by the respective insurer - within the scope of the cover agreed in the contract.

Assecura is neither an insurer nor a risk carrier. Our task as insurance brokers is to analyse risks, develop a suitable cover concept and place the matching insurance cover in the market. Beyond that we work on solutions that connect existing insurance structures with new digital markets and technologies.

The brokerage activity is directed at clients in Austria and follows Austrian law.

Infrastructure

The systems behind it

Insurance broking is digital today - the infrastructure behind it often only in part.

Assecura is being built exactly at that interface. We come from a working brokerage and see first hand where processes are needlessly complicated, where systems do not speak to each other, or where existing structures reach their limits.

Our approach is not to replace infrastructure that works. We make it more connectable, more modern and easier to use.

For that we work with specialised partners on existing broking and insurance processes, connecting proven structures with current technology.

At the same time we build infrastructure of our own where conventional systems cannot yet represent new markets well enough.

CoverRaccoon is our project for onchain cover. It structures publicly available information on blockchain-based cover and makes it usable for analysis, comparison and advice.

Assecura thereby connects two worlds: the existing infrastructure of insurance broking and the emerging infrastructure of digital, blockchain-based cover.

The starting point always remains the brokerage. Technology is not an end in itself for us, but a tool to make insurance simpler, more accessible and more connectable.

Blockchain Cover

CoverRaccoon

Assecura’s analysis and simulation index for blockchain cover.

Digital assets bring new risks with them - through smart contract flaws, protocol attacks or technical failure. CoverRaccoon shows which cover is available through Nexus Mutual, what it costs and which risks it addresses.

Nexus Mutual is a mutually organised onchain protocol: members pool capital and provide cover capacity for selected risks through staking pools.

CoverRaccoon helps you insure your products, compare them and simulate what a loss could mean.

Unlike the advice, this infrastructure knows no national border: it sits on a public chain and can be read from anywhere - by a person as much as by a program. Who may take part in a cover is decided by the respective protocol, not by Assecura.

Analyses and simulations are for orientation. Binding insurance cover only comes about through a separate contract.

Personal dashboard

Raccoon Agent

The CoverRaccoon dashboard for your own wallet.

Raccoon Agent shows the active covers of a wallet with product, sum insured and expiry date. A cover expires at a fixed point in time; the agent reports that point before it is reached.

Signing in works through a signature from the wallet. It proves that the address belongs to the visitor, and moves nothing.

On request the agent connects to Telegram and delivers its notices there: upcoming expiry, state of a renewal, overview of the week. The link can be disconnected again.

The agent watches and reminds. It does not advise, does not arrange and does not decide: what happens to a cover that is expiring is determined by whoever owns the wallet.

Open Raccoon Agent

Notices are a reminder, not insurance cover. Whether a cover continues is decided in the respective protocol.
